RECYCLING FROM OUR ORIGINS

As you already know, Lauca has been characterized since its origins as having been a brand that respects the environment, since it was and is our philosophy of life and that is reflected in our work. Lauca reuses and salvages all possible materials for the manufacture of the products. Our packaging is made with recycled and biodegradable paper and we use ecological and non-polluting ink. In 2023 we established the alliance with Tree Nation, a non-profit association that selflessly dedicates itself to reforesting the planet with new trees. This work requires economic investment, therefore, for each product sold in Lauca Shop, a tree will be planted in the different projects that the association has.

DEGRADED ANDALUSIA

The ecosystems of Andalusia are deeply degraded. This makes it difficult to find ecosystems that serve as a reference to restore a given area. There are many forms of the Mediterranean forest, depending on the type of soil, altitude, depth of the parent rock, slope, orientation, etc... This conditions the type of species that can develop in each place. The deep state of degradation of Sierra Lujar contrasts with the exuberant oasis of Sierra Nevada. We pay attention to how neither the species nor the genetics of the Sierra Nevada species serve us to restore Lujar. This is due to the abrupt difference in the type of soil. The Alpujarra of Sierra Nevada is mainly siliceous, and Lujar calcareous. In short, Sierra Nevada does not serve as a reference ecosystem for the design of restoration actions in Lujar. This is one of the great problems in the restoration of the peninsular southeast. Nature has been destroyed so much that there are very few oases of vegetation left.
